Gatwick: London to New York 25.06.18

I have finally arrived for my first departure! Thank you Mandy for getting me here safely. X

It is now 3.10 I’m sitting at Gatwick, having checked in and made my first Upgrade request, unfortunately the flight is full, but have been told to ask again at the gate, so fingers crossed. Very impressed that my case only weighed 20kg!

Security was quick and painless, although I feel my itinerary is going to cause some issues in the States, lots of coming and going which they might not like.

It is very strange being in an airport in the early hours, most things are closed, lots of cleaning going on, the lights seem dimmer, it’s quiet and actually pretty peaceful, which may be helping me to feel relatively calm, although this might be a delusion due to extreme sleep deprivation 😳

I’m off to the bar for a nice glass of bubbles……

Hi, my name is Claire and I am 60 years young, welcome to my blog. I am new to the whole travel and blog writing world, so no judging! I recently made some big life changes, leaving my job in education and moving myself and my younger children to Newquay in Cornwall, I then started a business with some fantastic friends #coffeeonthecornernewquay. And now I am about to embark on my first big travel adventure...I would love to share this with you. Since starting this blog in 2018 I have made more changes, and now in 2024 I will be traveling full time for the next year! Please join me in sharing my Big Adventure! ❤️

  1. I actually love airports. It’s like everything good about life in one big building. Love, good food, a bar that serves alcohol 24/7, shopping, peace and chaos all mixed in to one hehe. X
